one on one time...

Saturday night Caleb and I went to see the Round Rock Express. I decided a couple of weeks ago to start taking one kid to do something fun every weekend. Caleb wanted to go first so he picked going to see the game. He loves watching baseball now. He asked if I was going to take him every day! And the hot dogs aren't bad. Tonight he took his calculator to keep track of the homeruns. While we were there, RR had three homeruns. Not bad. By the 7th inning, he had enough so we left. Mid-way through he said "I'm missing mommy". For no apparent reason -- he just missed her. Sweet.

All day long he was asking if it was five yet (that's what time we were leaving for the game). He also wanted to know how much the tickets cost. When I told him $12 each he said "aw man, I only have $1". I told him that's ok, I paid for the tickets. And he said, but I wanted to buy them. He told me after tonights game that he would buy the tickets the next time. How sweet is he?

Jacob is next up for one on one time. He wants to go to Chuck E. Cheese; Sydni picked Disney World for her one on one time. I told her it had to be no more than 30 min. away and some place we could get to without having to take a plane. She finally settled on going to a pottery place to do a little painting.

Earlier in the afternoon, Jacob wanted to tell me a secret -- he had a great idea. How about all three of them go to the game today, and then all three of them could go to Chuck E. Cheese, and then they could all go paint pottery. He said that the other two would be sad when one of them was away without them so he had a great idea. Niet. I bribed him with a movie -- thought it worked until Caleb and I were leaving and I went to say good-bye to him -- he had his baseball cap on and said "am I going?" -- but at least he didn't cry (I don't think).
