favorite pics.....

Here are some current pictures spanning back to May of last year -- since our old website went a year without pics I thought I'd add some from here to stay up to date:

Bluebonnets (April 2006)

Christmas 2005 (I love taking pictures of the kids in their Santa hats) (December 2005)

Sydni joined Girl Scouts this year. She is a proud little "Daisy". I am happy to be her troop leader. Here she is with Mommy at her Investiture Ceremony. (December 2005)

Caleb asked for this "big red" car for so long -- he even had a coffee can with a sign on it to show he was saving for the "big red" car. Anytime we said we had something for them, he would ask if it was the "big red" car. He just knew he was going to get it -- and sure enough, Po-Po bought it for them. He couldn't wait for Christmas so they got this in early November. It is a great little car -- it's got a working radio, headlights, ignition, turn signals. It's a good little car. (November 2005)

Unfortunately, I was in NYC for Halloween so I didn't get to spend it with the kids this year -- very traumatic for me. And things have been so busy that we weren't able to have our annual Halloween party this year with their cousins. (October 2005)

Jacob and Caleb went as Power Rangers -- Sydni went as a bride.

As is the tradition, we went to the pumpkin patch this fall -- we've gone to this same one for a few years now and love it. They kids got to paint pumpkins, have a hay ride and generally have a good time. They were joined by some of their cousins and Sydni's new Girl Scout troop. (September 2005)

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Jacob played T-ball last year while Caleb and Sydni played soccer; well, Sydni didn't actually play -- she sat on my lap most of the time. Caleb enjoyed it -- and they both enjoyed the tophies they got. Jacob liked t-ball -- but he really hated it when someone else got the ball if he was going after it. It was a good time for lessons in sportsmanlike conduct. Jacob is playing soccer this year because he really liked the trophies Sydni and Caleb got -- just found out that he doesn't get a trophy but rather a medal. Oi vey. (September 2005)

2005 was the year of lost teeth. Sydni lost her first tooth in May; Jacob followed one month to the date in June; and caleb lost his first tooth in September. They made out pretty good from the tooth fairy that it came as a shock to them that she didn't always leave that much for every tooth. (May, June, September 2005)

Jacob, Caleb and Sydni celebrated their 5th birthday in 2005. Jacob had a SpongeBob SquarePants party and Caleb had a Power Rangers party; although both wanted to be Power Rangers on the invite/poster. They were so excited when they saw the poster that they thought they would actually get to be up on the big screen. They had their party at the local movie theatre and had a double feature of both SpongeBob and Power Rangers movies. (August 2005)

Sydni had a tea party for her 5th birthday celebration. It was really nice. Sydni and her friends dressed up, had a semi-formal tea, played games and everyone had fun. She wants to have tea parties all the time now. (August 2005)

Sydni is the first of the three kids to break a limb. Caleb was practicing his kicking abilities when Sydni happened to pass by him at just the right (or wrong) time. She fell down and was in pain but none more than usual; it wasn't until later that night when I got home to spend the night with them that I noticed she kept crying (or whimpering) in her sleep. I picked her up and held her for a while and then told Granny Gran that I was taking her to the ER. We were there for quite a while and they didn't find anything broken -- but then they called Monday morning after reviewing the x-rays and found that she did have a broken arm. She was a trooper and did great at keeping her arm elevated and dry. The only hard part was not being able to play with her friends. (August 2005)

Caleb, Sydni and Jacob started Kindergarten in 2005. They loved going to the "big" school. I was worried that they wouldn't adjust well to being apart but they are doing great being in separate rooms. It is so hard to hear what they go through with other kids -- even at this age kids are unbelievable with cliques, language, etc. -- but they are also making great friends and thriving. It is so great to listen to them read books. (August 2005)

We went to S. Padre Island in the summer of 2005 to attend cousin Rosalyn and Steven's wedding. The wedding was beautiful and it provided us a great little vacation. This is the first me and Granny Gran had been with the kids to the beach. We all had a blast. Caleb and Jacob were boogy-boarding like pros by the time we left and Sydni was a bathing beauty. We're hoping to make this trip a yearly tradition (July 2005)

We all went to Sea World in July 2005. This is the second time that we've "Dined with Shaum". The kids love it. I love that we get so close to Shamu. Jacob was able to feed the dolphins on this trip too. (July 2005)

We had a bar-b-que with the cousins for Fourth of July. Everyone came over to the kids house for fun on the water slide and we even had an old-fashioned parade down the street. The kids LOVED that part of the day. They even included a photo in the local paper. (July 2005)

By far, the best toy of the summer was this Bounce Round water slide that Granny Gran bought the kids this summer. It was supposed to be for their birthday but they couldn't wait. We had fun all summer long with this. (June 2005)
