Girl Scout Heritage meeting

Sydni was preparing for a Girl Scouts meeting where she had to bring information on her heritage including food native to her heritage, pics, music, etc. This was a little nerve wracking for Sydni because she has six different heritages to consider. Her mom's side is Spanish, Mexican and Aztec Indian. Her dad's side is English, German and Swedish.

She worked with her Grandma Sherry to make food from her heritage and PoPo got some tamales that Sydni could take with her. Granny Gran got Sydni a Mexican dress she wore that night and I got her pictures of her when she was smaller wearing Mexican dresses. She was so cute! I also researched the flags and maps for her to include in her scrapbook. Her mom told her and wrote down memories to include in her scrapbook. She had so much fun once she got to the meeting.

She was self conscious at first of wearing the dress but she finally settled down. Seeing this photo reminded me of another time this little girl wasn't happy and showed it (during a Mother's Day Out Christmas pageant).
