9th Birthday

For the kids 9th birthday we weren't going to have a party instead we were going to go to Great Wolf Lodge. But then Jacob made the comment that everybody else was going to have a better birthday than him and the guilt kicked in. Diane forbid me from throwing them a party but she said I could take them to Main Event and they could invite one friend each. Well with three kids and three friends that turns into a party and it was more cost effective to have a party for ten or twelve instead. So they each got to invite three friends for their birthday. To say all the kids had fun would be an understatement. They had a blast! They all did laser tag and glo golf and then each got cards to play games or go rock climbing.

Themes (They got to put the candles on themselves - they even do that differently):

Sydni had a horse theme and she put her decorations on her cake. You can't tell but she has a fox in between the horses. She told me the day before the party that she wanted a fox hiding behind a cactus on her cake in addition to the horses so I had to go hunting that stuff down at the last minute.




Jacob had G-Force which was the movie hit for the summer.


Caleb had Transformers 2 because he is a Transformers fanatic.



Caleb has been asking for a cell phone for a couple of years now. Diane and I got our wires crossed and I thought it was ok with her to buy them phones if that was what they wanted - it wasn't but the damage was already done. Once he knew the phone was ordered he was on pins and needles to get it. Caleb wanted a phone he could easily text with and that had a keyboard. The first day he had already almost used up his monthly limit -- I had to switch to unlimited. Sydni also decided she wanted a phone so she got one too. She also picked hers out and got a slick phone. Jacob decided he wanted a DS2 and he got that but when he saw that Sydni and Caleb had new phones he asked where his was. I'll be getting him a new one now.

Definitely a good birthday for all three seeing as how they weren't supposed to get a party or phones and ended up getting that and the trip. They are three wonderful kids and are all doing great in school so they deserved it.
